Another famous old theatre in Paris is the Odéon, which has hosted plays by Edward Albee, Ionesco, and Samuel Beckett. It has often courted controversy and in 1794 when The Marriage of Figaro was premiered, it's director, Beaumarchais, was arrested and jailed! Currently the Odéon has two stages, one for regional productions and a main stage used to host large-scale shows from leading European theatres. The price of a ticket ranges from 30 to 170 French Francs, and they normally go on sale two weeks before opening night.
